Ref. Kirche St.Jakob, Klosters
When the “Queen of Instruments”, the organ, meets a splendid trumpet, one can expect celestial fanfares. Especially when Immanuel Richter, solo trumpeter of the Basel Symphony Orchestra, is playing the instrument. George Friderich Händel also knew about the royal splendour of the trumpet. That is why he gave it an important role in his Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne. “Eternal source of light divine” is the title of the opening aria that will be heard in St. Jacob’s Church. Baroque concertos by Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Wilhelm Hertel will demonstrate the virtuosity of the instrument. Rudolf Lutz will not only imitate a whole orchestra on the organ, but will also improvise freely between the works. And, the audience will be invited to suggest themes!
