What does a young woman need for a successful future? Paulette Van der Beck knows it! She runs a home economics school in the French province at the end of the 1960s. Paulette teaches her students what they have to be able to do as perfect wives and housewives. Of course, Paulette is not concerned with finances, that's a man's business after all. But this proves to be fatal, because one day she has to realise that her institute is on the verge of ruin. And as if that wasn't enough, in May 1968, a sudden breeze of rebellious feminist ideas blows from Paris towards Paulette's school...
