Together with a friend, the Mexican teenager Jesús sets off on the 670 bus in the direction of the US-American border, after whose risky crossing many promise themselves a better life. When the friend's body turns up several months later and there is no sign of life from Jesús either, his mother is not prepared to give up hope despite all the warnings and sets off in search of her son. Her journey takes her to the death zone of northern Mexico, one of the most dangerous places in the world. In no man's land, she meets many who share her fate, for what happened to Jesús is not an isolated incident. Step by step, she gets closer to the truth.
